Chantico Irish Water Spaniels is a small kennel where breeding healthy and sound Irish Water Spaniels with solid temperaments is our primary goal. To achieve that goal we ensure that any dogs we breed have passed all the necessary health clearances including HIP, Elbows and Thyroid. Great thought, research and careful consideration goes into the planning of each litter we produce. We breed infrequently as Irish Water Spaniels, in spite of their beautiful looks, definitely are not the right dog for everyone. Instead, we breed only when we want to add another dog to our own family.
Our Irish Water Spaniels compete in conformation, obedience, rally obedience, and hunt tests. But first and foremost they are loving members of our families. Irish Water Spaniels love and need to be with their families. They are not a breed that can be kept as outdoor or kennel dogs.

November 29, 2008 - Fiona, accompanied by Selchie (CH Chantico's Spirit In The Surf) and Rocket (Chantico's Full Of Fire), earns 1st Place Brood Bitch at the 2008 Irish Water Spaniel Association of Canada National Specialty (IWSAC). Fiona also earned her 2nd Obedience CD leg with a 4th place finish and also won the IWSAC High In Trial! November 28, 2008 - Fiona earns her Canadian Championship at the United Kennel Club show in Montreal. September 28, 2008 - Announcing Chantico's first champion - CH Chantico's Spirit In The Surf! Selchie finished her championship at the Wine Country Cluster in NY. This is the same show that Fiona earned her CH at in 2004. April 9, 2008 - Selchie wins BOW at the 2008 IWSCA National Specialty, and Selchie and Nell win 1st place Stud Dog with their sire Gabe (Ch Madcap's If My Heart Had Wings). They also won 2nd place Brood Bitch with Fiona! March 1, 2008 - Lazarus wins Group 1 and Group 3 back to back weekends! February 24, 2008 - Nell earns her first major at the Suffern NY show! February 12, 2008 - Lazarus earns an Award of Merit at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show! December 8th, 2007 - Selchie wins a 3-point major at the Eastern Dog Club show in Boston, and Lazarus wins Best Of Breed on Sunday! November 30th, 2007 - Ballinoe earns her first breed point at the Worcester County dog show on Saturday and Selchie earns hers on Sunday. Selchie also wins a Bred-by Exhibitor Group 1! Lazarus goes Best Of Breed both days! September 29th, 2007 - Fiona wins Best Of Opposite at the IWSCA Supported Entry at Wine Country! She also earned her Rally Advanced (RA) title! Selchie, Nell and Ballinoe all made their ring debues at the show on their 6-month birthday! July 28, 2007 - Lazarus wins a Group 1 at the East Providence Kennel Club show! July 15, 2007 - Fiona wins a Group 3 and Group 4 at the Lady Slipper KC shows in Kensington, P.E.I., Canada! June 21, 2007 - Lazarus wins Group 4 at the South Hills KC!
